Round Robin Round (Abi Sandy, Crystal Zhu, Sasha Stolasz) formed for the first time to play the Edinburgh contra dance in May 2025. Since then, Sasha's experience with the Appalachian old-time style has become a strong influence in the trio, the counterplay of Abi and Crystal's Scottish tune repertoire. Both styles are distinctly evident in their music and intentionally woven together, creating a palette of contrasting sonic colors with which they paint the stage. The band's combined experience throws a wide net, between debuting at Celtic Connections, playing for contras all across the US (from BIDA to Chicago), and teaching lessons, workshops, and fiddle camps.
Exchange Rate
Exchange Rate is a band that was formed in Edinburgh Scotland. Its members Sasha Stolasz and Abi Sandy met through the University of Edinburgh Folk and Traditional Music Society. The two bonded over their love of music and went on to play their first show at Celtic Connections in 2025. Abi’s driving guitar which takes inspiration from guitar players such as John Doyle and Alex Sturbaum compliments Sasha’s playful fiddling which takes inspiration from fiddlers like Brittany Haas, Jenna Moynihan and Shane Cook. Together they are a vibrant duo that blend genres such as Scottish, Irish and Old-Time.
